Mojorimba Music Booster Program became a 501c3 non-profit organization shortly after our inception because of our commitment to maintaining the highest quality program while staying affordable for families. We rely on the support of supporters and sponsors who share our passion for making Marimba music education available for all interested youth in our community.

Our mission is to educate youth through unique marimba programs; provide a dynamic and diverse experience in the performing arts; nurture the creativity of each child using hands-on activities as an alternative to electronic devices, and enrich lives within the community. Mojo-Rimba is helping the community of Universal City, TX, one child at a time trough artistic expression, enhancing their brain development, building a strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and boosting self-confidence.

Celebrating San Antonio’s cultural diversity trough Marimba Programs
We value INCLUSIVENESS, and we offer our program to ALL dedicated students.

Founding Director and Grammy Awarded Bonnie Anderson, an elementary music teacher in Universal City, Texas, was a 2016 Top 10 Finalist for the Grammy Award in Excellence for Music Educator of the Year from among 4,500 entries nationwide and she was once again in the Top 25 during 2018.
She teaches music to over 400 students every week using her training in Kodaly, Orff and World Music Drumming and Marimba. She founded Mojorimba the first independent 501(c)3 nonprofit to bring the High energy Marimba education model and its benefits to San Antonio's youth. Ms. Anderson was born in 1967 in Harbor City, California, and was a 1992 graduate of the University of North Texas. She is a single mom, raising two daughters, one of whom she adopted from China. She knows that music teachers have a lot of influence in the lives of their students and need to use it wisely. Bonnie Anderson wants music to be the catalyst for students to be inspired and feel positive self-worth, just as it did in her own life.

OUR JOURNEY TO CARNEGIE HALL
We are raising funds so that as our group grows, we can support more kids with a passion in learning how to play marimba and to be able to bring our groups to play at Carnegie Hall in the summer of 2018. This will be a unique experience where we will not only carry the name of Universal City on high, but also the school district, the city of San Antonio and the entire state of Texas.
